Dear Mr. Dean:
My name is Levi Richards and I attend Brother Rice High School. I am writing this letter because I am troubled by the United States’ so called “War on Terror,” and I believe that you have the power to help bring the American troops home and back to safety. This war is unethical and illogical. The president should try to solve the problems in this country before he intervenes in another country.
People are dying so one man can benefit. There were no weapons of mass destruction. According to CNN, about 73,000 people have died so far, soldiers and Iraqis. The families of these people will never see their relatives again. They will never share the memories that families share with each other. Their children will never be able to spend time with them. No child deserves that.
The war is damaging the economy. America is spending billions of dollars. People are spending their hard earned money on something that they do not believe in. CNN indicates about 77% of people do not believe in this war. Of that 77%, 41% of people believe that it is going terribly. George Bush does not have the support of the American people.
In conclusion, I would like to say that this war is unethical. When thinking logically, it would make more sense to withdraw our troops and salvage what is left of the American economy. I urge you take what I have said into consideration and try to take a stand and try to bring our troops home.
